Description

Truly engaging in a team and upholding a ‘collaboractive’ stance throughout requires psychological safety. Without psychological safety, people will remain on the safe side, generalize needlessly, react defensively, shy away from opportunities and ultimately disengage and settle for mediocre outcomes. In a psychologically safe environment however people are willing to tackle difficult challenges, take risks, develop new solutions and fight a battle-uphill if needed. In a world of increasing interconnectedness and unpredictability, the need for that sort of collaboractiveness is bigger than ever before.

In this interactive workshop about Psychological Safety and Scrum, Gunther Verheyen, independent Scrum Caretaker and Workplace Humanitarian, will collaboratively explore with you what the drivers of human social behavior are, how these form a subconscious layer underlying people’s behaviors and how they can be influenced to trigger people’s health, well-being and positive action: how to engage the brain. The workshop will include a few selected cases from “The Scrum Caretaker Book of Exercises”.

What to expect in an online setting?

Our online workshops and classes are very much case-driven with plenty of room for interaction and conversation. We keep them as low-tech as possible:

  • We will connect on Zoom and use Zoom break-out rooms for discussions in smaller teams.
  • We will use a virtual whiteboard to support our learning experience.
  • The workshop facilitator will occasionally use a PowerPoint slide deck and a physical flip chart.
