On-site Scrum Pocket Class “The Scrum Values” (Module 1) on 25 October 2023 (with Lean-Agile Thinking, Copenhagen, Denmark)

Join the in-person session of this Scrum Pocket Class with Gunther Verheyen, independent Scrum Caretaker, to interactively discover the value in the Scrum Values, organized with Mads Troels Hansen of Lean-Agile Thinking at the occasion of the “Scrum Day Denmark” event in Copenhagen, Denmark 🇩🇰.

In Module 1 (“Values drive behavior”) Gunther will help you grasp how the Scrum Values can help you look beyond the rules of Scrum and enrich how you view the Scrum framework.

Notice: this particular Scrum Pocket Class is specifically organized with Mads Troels Hansen of Lean-Agile Thinking and is connected to the “Scrum Day Denmark” event in Copenhagen, Denmark 🇩🇰. The session is in-person only and registration is to be done on the website of Lean-Agile Thinking. This morning session is back-to-back organized with the Scrum Pocket Class “Scrum in the Large” in the afternoon. A discount applies for anyone attending both workshops: register for an individual session or for both sessions at a reduced price.

There is more to Scrum than rules, roles, practices and principles. Scrum, actually, is even more about behavior than it is about process. Values drive behavior. The framework of Scrum is based upon as well as expressed through five core values: commitment, focus, openness, respect and courage.

Although these values were not invented as a part of Scrum, and are not exclusive to Scrum, they do give direction to the work, behavior and actions in Scrum. In a Scrum context, our decisions, the steps we take, the way we play the game, the practices we include and the activities we undertake within Scrum should all re-enforce these values, not diminish or undermine them. That requires understanding these values, and the associated behaviors.

Gunther Verheyen, independent Scrum Caretaker, does not aspire teaching values. In this interactive workshop, he will collaboratively explore with you the value in the Scrum Values in a context of…Scrum, i.e. against the background of the combination of people+complexity+empiricism. The workshop will include a few selected cases from “The Scrum Caretaker Book of Exercises”.
